Milk Stories is an in-network provider with Cigna through our partnership with Wildflower Health. Many families with Cigna are eligible for six or more fully covered visits per pregnancy, with no copay or deductible.
What’s included:
Lactation support for breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, pumping, supply issues, starting solids, and more
Integrated occupational therapy and lactation care
Virtual, clinic-based, or home visit options
Prenatal lactation consultations —these can help you feel more confident and prepared before baby arrives
The first visit includes an occupational therapy evaluation to support whole-child feeding and development. This approach takes additional training, licensure, and time. As such, a $75 OT fee applies to initial clinic or in-home visits using Cigna and is not covered by insurance.
A $50 travel fee applies to home visits outside our standard service area.

Q: Do I need a referral?
A: No referral is needed.
Q: Will I have to pay anything else?
A: Just the $75 OT fee at your first visit, plus a $50 travel fee if you live outside our service area.

Milk Stories is a contracted provider with The Lactation Network (TLN). If you’re approved through TLN, your lactation visits may be fully covered depending on your plan.
What’s included:
Lactation care for breastfeeding and pumping
Bottle-feeding and feeding transitions as part of lactation support
6 visits are generally covered. More can be requested as long as you are lactating and need support.
Home and virtual visits available (insurance-dependent)
Prenatal lactation consultations are also covered and encouraged—they can set you up with feeding strategies, tools, and support before birth
Out-of-Pocket Fees:
$75 OT service fee applies to the initial visit for all TLN clients
$50 travel fee applies to home visits outside the service radius
FAQ
Q: How do I know if I qualify for TLN?
A: You’ll submit your insurance information through our TLN intake link. TLN will review your eligibility and email you directly with approval.
Q: What insurance plans are accepted?
A: TLN works with most PPO plans with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, and plans with MultiPlan, PNOA, First Choice Health, Imagine Health, Velocity PPO, and First Health.
We also accept UnitedHealthcare (UHC) HMO and commercial plans in 49 states (Hawaii pending) for in-person consultations only.
Q: Does TLN cover bottle-feeding or solids?
A: TLN covers feeding support only for lactating parents. If you’re still nursing or pumping, visits that include bottle transitions or solids guidance may be covered. If you’ve weaned or are exclusively formula-feeding, we’re still happy to work with you as a private-pay client.
Q: Why is there an OT fee if I’m already covered?
A: Because I’m both an IBCLC and a licensed occupational therapist, I offer a deeper, more integrated approach to feeding. That additional expertise allows me to evaluate body regulation, feeding coordination, and developmental patterns that influence how your baby feeds. The $75 OT fee reflects this specialized support and is not covered by TLN.

If you are not using insurance, we are happy to work with you directly. Many families choose self-pay for the flexibility and individualized nature of care offered at Milk Stories. You’ll receive the same integrated, evidence-based support that blends lactation expertise with a whole-child occupational therapy approach.
What’s included:
Support for breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, pumping, and feeding transitions
Care that considers your baby’s development, body, and regulation—not just the latch
In-home, clinic-based, or virtual options available
Prenatal lactation consultations available to prepare you for feeding your baby, understand what’s normal, and build a care plan tailored to your values and circumstances
